Who's Who in the Wriggle Valley Benefice

The Benefice has a ministry team of the Rector, two licensed lay ministers and a number of Lay Pastoral Assistants. We are also grateful to have the occasional ministry of a number of clergy who have 'permission to officiate'. The Brothers from the Society of St. Francis at Hilfield also exercise a ministry in some of our Parishes; that is a long held and highly valued tradition.

Simon and his family have recently moved from the Oxford diocese where he was for 13 years Team Vicar in the Thame Valley Team looking after 6 village churches. Alongside his pastoral responsibilities he worked with A Rocha UK, a Christian environmental charity, to set up the Chiltern Gateway project working closely with Natural England and the Aston Rowant National Reserve. He brings with him a deep concern for our rural communities and the country churches which serve them.
Having worked for 10 years with the South American mission society and for the past 10 years with Soma UK, a short term Anglican mission agency he also brings with him a worldwide perspective. In the past few years he has led teams to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and the democratic republic of Congo to train ministers and lay leaders in the Anglican church.
