Saturday 13th Diocesan Festival, Salisbury Cathedral

On March 13th, four WVMU members joined with 500+ other Mothers' Union members gathered in Salisbury Cathedral for the Diocesan Festival.  The Service lasted all morning! - starting with opening prayers at the West End.  During the next hour we each made our way around the Deanery displays  showing various aspects of MU work in the diocese, UK and around the world, using this time for our intercessions.  Our Sherborne Deanery were given "Away from it all Holidays" as our theme, with all the parafernalia of beach holidays displayed and space to write a prayer note to be put on the beach.   We then all gathered in the Nave for Commissioning by Bishop Stephen of our two Diocesan Presidents, Anne and Jane.  The Diocesan and Deanery banners were then processed out through the west doors followed by us all, and time for photos of them gathered on the steps.
